Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set for yet another tour. Contrary to his previous yatras like Odarpu Yatra, the latest tour gained significance as it is his first public tour after the poll durbbing. Jagan is going on to tour in the district of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh from Tuesday (Today) where YSR Congress party was almost wiped out in the recent elections. Party’s key leaders and former ministers tasted failure. YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma, who was in fray from Vizag parliament, lost to BJP candidate Kambhampati Hari Babu with a whopping majority of over 90000 votes.
Keeping this aside, Jagan is going to visit Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts and will be sending four days in these two districts. His tour will begin from Tuesday (Today). As per the schedule, Jagan will visit crucial areas of Vizianagaram on Tuesday and Wednesday, and parts of Srikakulam on Thursday and Friday. This tour is aimed at consoling the victims of Chennai building collapse and wall collapse subsequently where 24 victims’ families are in Vizianagaram and 23 victims’ families are in Srikakulam.
Already, AP government has announced Rs 5 Lakh ex gratia for the deceased families and Rs 50,000 for injured. Tamil Nadu government too announced its ex gratia and steps are being taken to support the victims by all sort. The timing of Jagan’s tour is now setting tongues wagging and raising many questions. Apparently, Jagan wants to strengthen his party in North Coastal region and want to boost the confidence of his party cadre. Is Jagan trying to politicize it for his party’s mileage or is this another attempt to get sympathy? Will Jagan’s tour yields the results?
