Ra Ra Krishnayya Movie Review

Director Mahesh P
Producer : Vamsi Krishna Srinivas
Music Director : Achu Rajamani
Starring : Sundeep Kishan, Regina Cassandra, Jagapathi Babu, Kalyani

Kittu (Sandeep Kishan) is a hard working guy who values every paisa he earns and dreams of becoming someone big on his own. Nandu (Regina Cassendra) is a girl who wants to have freedom in whatever she wants and chooses for her life. Circumstances force Kittu and Nandu to unite and eventually they fall in love. What are the circumstances and what future awaits the couple is the basic plot of the film.

Sandeep Kishan is at his usual. There is no improvement, he is the way he has been over the past few films.Regina Cassandra and Jagapathi Babu are the backbones of the film. Both of them elevate the film with their performance especially Jagapathi Babu in the second half as Jaggu. He connects to the audience instantly. Others like Tanikella Bharani, Kalyani, Ravi Babu and Brahmaji etc are only to serve the narrative but add nothing performance wise. Comedians Tagubothu Ramesh, Venue and Satyam Rajesh are all fine in their own style.

Technical Department:

Ra Ra Krishnayya is high on technical aspects. A special word of mention goes to the camera work. The visuals in the film look absolutely stunning. Production values are rich, and the way the entire movie has been shot looks very good.

Acchu’s music is also a major plus. All the songs are pretty good and have also been shot well. Dialogues are decent and have been written nicely.

Director Mahesh Babu is pretty OK with his first film. He executes the first half wonderfully, and extracts good performances from his star cast. But as said earlier, he goes off track in the second half and tries to add too many commercial elements.

Screenplay of the movie is pretty good in the first half, but could have gone withe some lesser scenes in the second.

Plus Points:

Jagapathi Babu.
Regina Cassandra.

Minus Points:

Unwanted sentimentality.
Drags in parts.
Unnecessary subplot.

On the whole, Ra Ra Krishnayya basically works in parts. After an interesting and engaging first half, the second half disappoints you slightly. If you go in to this film without much expectations, you will surely love Sundeep Kishan and Regina’s sizzling chemistry, and the beautiful songs. Rating – 2/5
